Birding Experience with the Audubon Society
Friday, April 10
8:00 AM
We hope you can join for fresh air, beautiful local scenery and the thrill of spotting incredible bird species in their natural habitat. Whether you are a seasoned birder or just curious, this adventure promises fascinating insights, peaceful moments and many winged wonders to discover!
Bedford Audubon Naturalist Tait Johansson will take us for a morning bird walk at Edith Read Wildlife Sanctuary, where forest, shoreline and wetland habitats offer an exceptional variety of bird species. We'll scan the open water for waterfowl including Brant, Long-tailed Duck, Red-breasted Merganser, Greater and Lesser Scaup, and Common Loon, while keeping an eye out for Osprey and Great Egret working the shallows. In the thickets and woodland edges, we may see early migrants like Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Palm Warbler, among many other resident songbirds. Tait will have a spotting scope on hand to give participants up-close looks throughout the walk. Bring your binoculars if you have them — if not, Bedford Audubon has pairs available to lend you, upon request. Come ready to enjoy.
15 person maximum. Cost is $20 per person for a 90 minute session.
