Women of CSR at Work in the Community
On Sunday, April 12, 2018 the Rye Women’s Interfaith Committee sponsored its annual conference and reception at the Rye Presbyterian Church. The topic was “Honoring Religious Diversity During Life’s Journey.” Our very own Rabbi Leora Frankel and congregant Susan Rudolph participated on the panel. Women of CSR (on behalf of Community Synagogue of Rye), along with the other houses of worship in Rye, contribute every year so that the Interfaith Committee can offer stimulating and thought-provoking programs to the community.
Women of CSR would also like to thank Rabbi Leora Frankel and Cantor Melanie Cooperman for coordinating the Women’s Seder for our synagogue family and friends. More than 100 women and some of their daughters attended this year’s event. Also, WRJ/Sisterhood donated funds to the Backpack Mission for Helping Hands for the Homeless & Hungry in Rye in August. The funds help purchase 2050 backpacks, which were filled with school supplies for needy children in temporary housing or homeless shelters in the Westchester area. Our financial support helps to provide programs within the synagogue, as well as working toward making a difference within our local communities. We look forward to future activities sponsored by Women of CSR. |
