Friday EveningsSharing Shabbat and Dinner (for children ages 2-5) at 5:15 pm
On the first Friday of each month, families with young children participate in the Shabbat experience with beautiful music and exciting stories. Children will learn beginner’s prayers, sing and dance! We begin in the lobby with the lighting of candles, tzedakah and an opportunity to bless each other. In the sanctuary, we continue with an abbreviated service and story, and end with challah and juice. Families are also invited to sign up in advance for a pizza dinner immediately following Sharing Shabbat services. First Friday Services (and Holiday Weekends) at 6:30 pm
Start each month with a slightly shorter service (approximately 45 minutes) at an earlier time. It is our hope that people of all ages will welcome Shabbat together, gathering for a “pre-neg” of wine, cheese, and other snacks before services so that everyone can enjoy a leisurely Shabbat dinner afterwards. Friday Evening Services at 6:30 pm
All Friday night services that do not take place on the First Friday of the month or on a holiday weekend begin at 6:30 pm and are followed by a festive oneg dessert. Summer Hours (Fridays, June 24 through Labor Day Weekend)
Normally During the summer, Shabbat Services on Friday evenings will begin at 6:15 pm. |
Saturday MorningsTorah Study Service at 8:45 am
Each week our congregation meets to worship, to read Torah and to discuss the weekly Torah portion. In an interactive format, we learn interpretations offered by our sages and share our own insights. Through this enriching dialogue, we come to learn what the Torah can teach us and to reflect on ways that the text touches upon our lives today. Rabbi Daniel Gropper, Rabbi Leora Frankel, and Cantor Melanie Cooperman or volunteer lay people lead the service and discussion. A light Kiddush is sponsored each week by congregants following the Torah Study service. Youth Learner’s Service at 10:15 am
Join the students in our Center for Jewish Learning for a dynamic, upbeat and interactive service where we delve deeply into the meaning of prayers to make them relevant to our lives. It is a perfect opportunity for those who want to dip their toe into the world of worship, but might feel unsure. B'nei Mitzvah Service at 11:15 am
On Saturday mornings throughout the year, we celebrate our thirteen-year-old students becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah. All are welcome to share in this simcha. See the synagogue calendar for our B'nei Mitzvah schedule. Summer Hours (Saturdays, June 25 through Labor Day Weekend)
During the summer, Torah Study Services on Saturday mornings will begin at 9:00 am. |
