Madrichim in Training
Do you want to be a camp counselor, sports coach or teacher? Do you want an impressive experience on your college applications? Do you want a paid position working in our Center for Jewish Learning?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then the Madrichim-in-Training Workshop is for you!
From October through December, we'll build our skills in child development, engaging lesson planning, and Jewish identity. Come January, our madrichim (guides) will help in our CJL classes and tutoring center, Chavurah groups, Jr. COSY, Jr. Choir and more. To supplement weekly placements, the second half of the year we meet back together on three Shabbat mornings to share stories, successes, and challenges.
In addition to training with Amy Rosenbaum, CJL Director, participants will also meet other madrichim from all over Westchester County for two workshops and a closing ceremony. By May, madrichim will be fully-equipped to become teaching assistants at the CJL the following fall (and will be qualified to earn a paycheck doing it).
Graduates of this program will also earn a Certificate in Youth Education and Leadership from the Westchester Association of Temple Educators.
To apply for the Madrichim-in-Training program, contact Amy Rosenbaum at Arosenbaum@comsynrye.org.
