Kehilah Kids Kindergarten Program
Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
It is amazing how open young children are to Jewish learning and spirituality. We have created a time and space to nurture and enrich your child’s soul. Experience shows that children who begin Jewish learning at a young age are more likely to embrace Jewish learning as they grow. Kehillah-Kids offers your child an opportunity to connect with other Jewish children through interactive, fun and creative Jewish experiences. Jewish holidays, rituals and Bible stories come alive when our charismatic and talented teacher Carol Meyers combines cooking, drama, music, movement and art in a camp-like, informal learning setting. Young children love our "Hebrew through Movement" program, an engaging and interactive way to have fun with Hebrew language. The whole family is invited several times throughout the year to enjoy holiday celebrations and exciting learning together.
Kehilah Kids is open to children entering kindergarten.
Synagogue membership is not required for this program.
We are pleased to be able to offer Kindergarden at no cost. Please click here for an application.

All Set for Aleph Bet: Grades 1-2

Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
First grade – Kitah Alef
Young children love this interactive camp-like model of Jewish learning.
Our warm and dynamic first grade educator will delight your child with rich and fun Jewish learning experiences. Rotating learning stations, drum circles, crafts, games, drama, cooking, music and storytelling will engage your child’s mind and ignite your child’s inner spirit. Children enjoy “Hebrew through Movement”, a Hebrew learning model that teaches Hebrew language through simple and fun action commands. Hebrew letter identification is introduced through play and crafts. Think of drawing Hebrew letters in sand, molding letters out of clay and forming letters with yoga like positions. Jewish values are emphasized each week as children reflect on their actions through drawing and personal narratives. Families join first graders for scheduled celebrations throughout the year. A highlight is chocolate chip challah baking.
Synagogue membership is not required for this program. For CJL returning learners, please click here for an application. For learners who are new to the Center for Jewish Learning, click here.
Second Grade – Kitah Bet
Curiosity, exploration and creativity inspire the curriculum for our second grade learners. Our educator delights our second graders with amazing art projects, games, movement, stories and cooking. Learners explore the lessons of the Torah through the lens of kindness and generosity. Each child creates his/her own personalized Torah scroll. This is a wonderful keepsake. Rituals and customs associated with Jewish holiday celebrations are introduced. A highlight is a beautiful Shabbat kit to take home and use. Learners continue to build their Hebrew vocabulary through our “Hebrew through Movement Program”. Think of Simon Says in Hebrew. Hebrew letter identification continues to grow through visually engaging exercises. Children learn simple blessings and Hebrew songs. Families can join in on the fun at selected times of the year.
