Chavurah

Chavurah is an award-winning, alternative Religious School model available for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade families at Community Synagogue of Rye.
Join us as we build community through meaningful Jewish learning and living experiences, consisting of:
  • Weekly Mifgash: Students meet in various settings where they explore Jewish answers to their questions
  • Monthly Family Limmud: Families of the Chavurah come together in learning (limmud) experiences.
  • Monthly Community Kesher: At least once a month, families need to connect (kesher) with the CSR community, attending either Shabbat or Holiday services and programs.

Each Chavurah has a Moreh/Morah Derech (guide) who coordinates and facilities the learning experiences. Additionally, the parents of the Chavurah play an active role as both learners and educators.
To learn more about Chavurah, visit our Frequently Asked Questions section here.
